We discuss your medical history at your new patient consultation and would ask you to postpone treatment if you were pregnant or breastfeeding. Treatment may not suitable if you are having immune therapy or undergoing cancer treatment.

How safe is treatment?

All our Hyaluronic acid treatments are performed by our Thames Skin Doctors under the supervision of Dr Anna Hemming who is extremely experienced in aesthetic injectable techniques and has a very good eye for natural treatment.

Will I feel any pain or discomfort during my treatment?

You should expect very minor discomfort or tenderness initially, this settles very quickly. We use local anaesthetic injections to help numb some treatment areas and cool compress to calm any potential swelling.

Are there any associated risks?

Side effects are minimal and can include injection site tenderness and mild bruising.

How much downtime is usually needed and what should I expect?

There is no need for down time following Thames Neck Lift treatment, however, Secret Pro CO2 laser skin tightening has associated down time.

Procedure

Botulinum toxin is injected through a fine sterile needle into the facial muscle of expression.

Treatment can cause mild discomfort over a few seconds.

Effects can be seen within 3 days and the complete effect in 2 weeks.

Treatment lasts for 3-6 months. Often increases with duration with progressive treatments.

Profhilo and Polynucleotides are injected through a fine sterile needle into specific anatomical positions in the neck which have been proven to promote the best collagen stimulation.

Treatment can cause mild discomfort over a few seconds.

Effects start to develop within the initial 2 week period. However further collagen stimulation starts 21 days after treatment and continues for 2-3 months.

Treatment lasts for 6-18 months depending on metabolism.

Treatment is a safe and effective way of lifting and Tightening the neck using your muscle activity, stimulating hydration and tightening within the skin.

Side effects

Side effects are minimal if any. Injection site tenderness and mild bruising may occur. Ptosis or drooping of the eye lid is very rare, much less so with the experienced injector.

It should not to be used if pregnant or breast feeding as we have no research to prove it is safe for your foetus or child.

Care must be taken if diagnosed with neurological or bleeding disorders, currently suffering with a skin infection or allergy or taking particular medication. Your specialist will be able to advise you further.

Please discuss any current medication with the doctor, especially if you are taking aspirin on Ibuprofen. Medication may need to be stopped before treatment.

Aftercare

For at least 4 hours after treatment

Do not rub or massage treated area
Gently pad dry with a soft towel after washing
