Thames Face Lift

As we age we are not able to create as much hyaluronic acid or collagen as our body needs. The gradual reduction in both as well as changes in fat and bone within the complex structure of our faces results in changes to facial volume, decreases in hydration and elasticity as well as an increase in skin laxity. Lines and wrinkles and hollows appear as the volume is lost and jowls and superficial fat deposits change and develop when the underlying structure can no longer support the upper layer.

Our Non surgical face lift otherwise know as the Thames Face Lift, can be achieved using different combinations of treatment to suit your individual needs. Your treatment will be designed by Dr Hemming and combines dermal filler for volume loss, muscle injections to smooth stubborn wrinkles and a premium skin care routine to create healthy skin and stimulate collagen while resting the muscle activity contributing to line and wrinkle formation.

Additional treatments to tighten skin, rehydrate and improve skin laxity are suitable for some patients.

Is this treatment suitable for me?

Facial filler treatments restore balance and symmetry to the upper face performed by Dr Anna Hemming our filler treatments are extremely popular forming part of the Thames Face Lift. Before treatment we assess your deep facial volume to ensure this is the right treatment for you.

We may advise HIFU, Secret RF or other face tightening treatments as part of your Thames Lift plan.

We discuss your medical history at your new patient consultation and would ask you to postpone treatment if you were pregnant or breastfeeding. Treatment may not suitable if you are having immune therapy or undergoing cancer treatment.

How safe is treatment?

All our dermal fillers treatments are performed by Dr Hemming who is extremely experienced in aesthetic injectable techniques and has a very good eye for natural treatment.

Will I feel any pain or discomfort during my treatment?

You should expect very minor discomfort or tenderness initially, this settles very quickly. We use local anaesthetic injections to help numb some treatment areas and cool compress to calm any potential swelling.

Are there any associated risks?

Side effects are minimal and can include injection site tenderness and mild bruising.

How much downtime is usually needed and what should I expect?

There is no need for. Down time following our Thames Face lift treatment.

Procedure

Fillers are made from a clear non animal based hyaluronic acid gel injected under the skin to bind water and encourage collaged regrowth. These have low allergy rates and means your treatment can go ahead without a patch test on your first visit.

Dermal filler and botulinum toxin are both injected through a fine sterile needle or cannula into the area where volume loss has occurred.

Treatment can cause mild discomfort over a few seconds. I prefer fillers to contain a local anaesthetic as it ensures a more comfortable procedure.

Effects of dermal filler can be seen immediately and the complete effect of both filler and botox in 2 weeks.

Dermal filler lasts for 12-18 months.

Skin stimulation with radiofrequency or HIFU continue to build collagen for 2-3 months following the procedure providing fantastic and growing results following your treatment.

Your comfort levels and expectations are important factors which are considered in your consultation. Local anaesthetic cream can be applied before treatment. Please arrive 30 minutes before your appointment to have local anaesthetic applied, after which you may relax and enjoy our private patient lounge facilities.

Treatment areas

Treatment is a safe and effective way of replacing lost volume, lifting and hydrating in the lips and surrounding mouth area. A combination approach gives the best natural results.

Side effects

Side effects are minimal if any. Injection site tenderness and mild bruising as well as redness, dry skin and itching to the treatment area may occur. Lips can swell after treatment and will settle within 7-14 days.

Dermal fillers should not be used if pregnant or breast feeding as we have no research to prove it is safe for your foetus or child.

Care must be taken if you are currently suffering with a skin infection or allergy or taking particular medication. Your specialist will be able to advise you further if you have recently had a skin peel or resurfacing procedure.

Please let the doctor know if you suffer from cold sores as treatment can sometimes trigger the virus.

More serious complications can occur which is why all of our dermal filler treatments are performed by a medically qualified practitioner who is trained in complication management.

Aftercare

Do not touch, rub or massage the area or apply makeup for at least 6 hours.
Immediately you may have redness, swelling, bruising, discomfort or itching these should settle over 7-14 days.

Ask your doctor to advise a pre and post skin care regime to rejuvenate the skin and maintain maximum effects.

If you suffer from cold sores these may be activated by treatment and your doctor may prescribe you some antiviral cream or tablets.

AVOID skin peels, sunbeds and laser treatments for up to 2 weeks.

Dermal filler, anti wrinkle injections and skin tightening treatments vary by both volume (of filler) and type (of treatment) to give the best results. We often get asked about the cost of treatment. I look younger!

I received Fractora treatment now 3 weeks ago from Dr Hemming. There has been a slow healing and gradually I see myself less tired looking and my lines have noticeably reduced . The beginnings of a jowel I had along my jawline has disappeared which is exactly the part of my face that bothered me most. It seems as if I’ve had a face lift! My skin is firmer and the hollows less deep. I dare say I look younger.

Go, you will not be disappointed.

I have recently moved to Barnes and was searching for someone that could deliver wrinkle injections on my skin but I wanted someone reputable, Doctor led, and that didn’t over do my face as I don’t want it to look like I have treatments. I had my appointment with Anna, the lovely lady that owns this clinic and what a brilliant experience it was for me. I knew my end result would be exactly what I was after. I shall be back, for other treatments because I feel I’m in safe hands and you all know what you’re talking about. No I know why Anna has such a great reputation within the industry. I’ve had the pleasure of going to Dr Anna for a few years now and was delighted when she opened The Thames Skin Clinic as so close to where I live.
