Profhilo Structura treatment is ideal for patients who want subtle, natural looking treatments to restore small imperfections rather than radically change their appearance. Treatment is quick, pain free and can be done during ones lunch break as there are no/minimal downtime.

How many sessions will I require?
When will I see results?
Many of our patients experienced a lift immediately after their first treatment, however results will become more prominent in the 2 months after the full course of 2 sessions is complete.
How long do the results last?
After a few weeks Profhilo Structura will restore and regenerate the adipose tissue in the side of the cheek, aiding the lifting and hydration of the subcutaneous layer. Effect can migrate to the dermis which can also feel more hydrated. Crepey skin overlying depleted fat pads is rehydrated and causes a smoothness t the skin too. This regeneration lifts the jowl upwards and if we are treating sunken hollows the volume is restored in a natural looking smooth way.
Results of the restoration in the adipose tissue with depend on the condition of this layer at presentation. After 6-12 months we can review the skin and assess the need for additional treatment. For patients with very depleted and disrupted skin treatment would be recommended closer together initially.
How much downtime is usually needed and what should I expect?
Patients may experience a tiny swelling after treatment, and a bruise may appear on the single injection sites. This will dissipate within a few hours and should not disrupt your day.
Are there any associated risks?
We take every precaution to ensure risks are. Treatment is injected using a cannula as cannula injections are have fewer associations with vascular compromission or occlusion events. We require every patient to have an initial consultation with Dr Anna who will thoroughly assess your suitability before any treatment is carried out.
Is the treatment painful?
Before injecting, a numbing injection (or cream) will be applied to the cannula site in order to minimize discomfort. Profhilo Structura will then be administered via a single injection site using a cannula to further minimize discomfort. Because of this, most patients remark on how pain-free the treatment is.
Procedure
First your medical history will be taken followed by an examination of your skin concerns. You can discuss whether Profhilo Structura treatment is suitable for you and address your expectations from treatment. When the treatment has been fully explained you will be required to sign a consent form and a photograph will be taken for your confidential records.
Following cleansing local anaesthetic can be applied if needed.
Your Profhlio Structura treatment will then commence with superficial single site injection.
Following treatment you an antiseptic cream or lotion will be applied, normally Clinisept+
Treatment is a safe and effective way of tightening and lifting your skin.
Your comfort levels and expectations are important factors which are considered in your consultation.
Treatment areas
Profhilo Structura treatment can be used on the lower face, injected in two specific ways depending on your goals.
Treatment is offered as a 2 session course (using 90mg/2ml Profhilo Structura per session) with 30 days between treatments.
Side effects
Side effects are minimal if any. Injection site tenderness and mild bruising may occur.
It should not to be used if pregnant or breast feeding as we have no research to prove it is safe for your foetus or child.
Care must be taken if diagnosed with neurological or bleeding disorders, currently suffering with a skin infection or allergy or taking particular medication. Your specialist will be able to advise you further.
Please discuss any current medication with the doctor, especially if you are taking aspirin on Ibuprofen. Medication may need to be stopped before treatment.
Aftercare
- There may be some tenderness, redness, swelling and bruising around the injection site. This is normal and will subside, usually within a few days (or hours).
- If swelling or pain persists or you are concerned, please contact the clinic as soon as possible.
- Use a cold pack to reduce swelling and /or redness.
- Do not massage or manipulate the treated area.
- Apply a SPF 30+ sun screen. Recommended ZO skin health SPF 30 + primer, or ZO Skin Health Sheer SPF50.
- Stay hydrated
- No recover times is required and you can return to your daily activities immediately.
- Avoid any further cosmetic procedures for 2 days after treatment.
- Avoid wearing make up for 12 hours post treatment
- Avoid extreme temperatures (hot and cold) for a minimum of 7 days after treatment (no saunas, steam rooms, sun beds or sun exposure).
- Avoid touching treatment area without first cleaning hands (can use Clinicsept+)
- Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours
- Avoid Swimming for 48 hours
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours after treatment
Ensure you have booked your second treatment 30 days after the first and a follow up 1 month after your second treatment.
