Treatments have been used in 50 countries across the globe and over 2 million procedures have been successfully carried out. The after-effects are fairly minor and there is less downtime associated with this treatment compared to liposuction.

Once injected, Aqualyx starts working immediately in the treated area and carries on working over the next 4-6 weeks, which is when we then advise to have a 2^nd treatment in your course.

Aqualyx treatment is the perfect nonsurgical solution when a non-invasive alternative to liposuction is desirable.

The number of treatments you need is going to depend on how much fat there is in the problem area. A consultation with your practitioner is required to determine an individualised plan.

After the first treatment has been settled, 50% of people to notice an external reduction of fat in the treated areas.

Areas such as the chin will need as many as 4 Aqualyx treatments. Larger areas (like the thighs for example) may benefit from up to 8 treatments.

We ask all our patients whether they felt pain with Aqualyx treatment, the average pain score was 1-2/10. This shows how comfortable Aqualyx fat dissolving injections are to receive.

Aqualyx treatment is fast and efficient, taking between 15 and 45 minutes depending on area.

The process takes longer when larger areas are being treated.

Most areas of treatment need a small number of injections, your practitioner will ensure you are comfortable for the duration of treatment.

The main side-effects of Aqualyx include swelling, bruising and sensitivity (sometimes pain) in the treated area. These effects can last for anything up to six weeks post-treatment.

With Aqualyx, there’s a small risk of getting an infection as with many procedures.

Face treatments with Aqualyx tend to recover slightly quicker than treatments performed on the body as Aqualyx treatment is more aggressive when the body is being treated and you’ll experience some pain and swelling for a number of days post-treatment.

It’s important to start wearing a compression garments as soon as the procedure is complete. We recommend Spanx  type compression for waist, abdomen, buttock and hip areas and under chin compression for double chin treatments.

In most cases, patients tolerate the bruising pretty well, along with any downtime, as they are looking forward to seeing great results. If tolerated Paracetamol can be used after treatment, we do not recommend using Ibuprofen.

Contrary to liposuction, where there is usually saggy skin in the area that was treated, Aqualyx treatment is effective in producing tightening and contouring effects to the skin in the treated area.

Sometimes additional skin tightening is required for extreme skin laxity which may be more suitable if skin tightening rather than fat dissolving is required.

At your consultation, we will discuss your concerns with you and ask you about your medical history. This gives us the opportunity to record your weight, give you an examination, and take photographs before the treatment starts.

At your Aqualyx appointment, the area causing concern is marked. Next, we ask you to look in the mirror to confirm that the areas of fat marked correspond to your concern.

You will then be invited to  lie down on the couch and be made comfortable, whilst giving us access to the area being treated.
