How Does Skin Work?

Posted 21/04/2020 | Advice

It’s been a very busy week for us at Thames Skin Clinic, we have been working hard to put some video content together and build our YouTube Channel. The aim is to help you understand your skin, how it works, how it becomes unhealthy and how we put it right. Whether that is through skin care programs or professional treatments. Having an understanding about the science behind ageing as well as the anatomical changes and personal progression through our years will give you the information you need to make informed decisions about skincare and treatment.

Lizzie has sent some images of her Home Peel using ZO Radical Night Repair. This is a deep epidermal peel performed on prepared skin at home over either 3 or 5 days. The Peel causes visible peeling and results show lovely radiant tighter skin.

Dr Anna has stepped up her retinol program to make her skin summer ready. Helping to rejuvenate lazy winter skin with the potential to enjoy the results from another 3 Step Peel. Those who watched the instagram journal of Dr Anna’s 3 step peel 2 years ago, I am sure will agree, the peel did a fabulous job! In the mean time she has been using the At Home Facial she demonstrated on YouTube and Enzymatic Peel boosts.

Without a confirmed date for the end of Lockdown we are aware many of you want to make the most of this time, we are able to provide delivery of skincare to your doo as well as Skinade collagen peptide drinks designed perfectly to keep you skin hydrated and glowing. We have the Complexion Renewing Kits to which we simply add the Enzymatic Peel and an SPF, you then have all the Facial Products needed for our At Home Peel. If you would like to prepare your skin for the At Home Peel using Radical Night Repair we can put this together for you following a remote consultation on Zoom. We have a number of patients preparing their skin for the in clinic peels, the 3 step peel and the controlled depth peel.

Over the next few weeks I will be sharing weekly videos on YouTube and taking you on a journey with one of my patients, Kate, who had the controlled depth peel last year. She made a video diary of her peel journey which she has very kindly agreed we can share with you.

So watch this space and make sure you like the Thames Skin Clinic Facebook page and Instagram accounts so you do not miss a post. The links are at the top right side of this page, along with the Clinic’s YouTube page too!

If you have not already been onto the Thames Skin Clinic YouTube Channel, it might be worth a look as we are building videos full of information for you to check out. In my latest video released today I talk about Healthy Skin, how we define it and the benefits of professional skincare. I don’t want to give the game away so why not take a look and click the image below.
