HIFU treatment is suitable for most people. We discuss your medical history at your new patient consultation and would ask you to postpone treatment if you were pregnant or breastfeeding.
HIFU causes micro injuries caused by highly focused acoustic energy, creating thermal coagulation at three different skin layers to encourage the growth and formation of new collagen. In the weeks following treatment the areas will appear lifted, firmer and toned while fine lines and wrinkles are visibly reduced as the skin tightens.
We have carefully chosen our Doublo HIFU device after much consideration and testing, we found it to be the most comfortable in achieving the best results. How safe is treatment?
HIFU skin tightening is considered a safe treatment our device is CE and FDA approved.
Will I feel any pain or discomfort during my treatment?
There can be some discomfort during the treatment when the deeper ultrasound is being delivered. Treatment may feel warm in some places and you may experience a tingling sensation.
Are there any side effects to treatment or risks associated?
Side effects are minimal if any. Treatment area can look mildly red. Your skin will have an immediate tightening effect and you can return to your normal daily activities. It should not to be used if pregnant or breast feeding as we have no research to prove it is safe for your foetus or child. Care must be taken if currently suffering with a skin infection or allergy or taking particular medication. Thames skin clinic will be able to advise you further. Please discuss any current medication with us, especially if you are taking aspirin on Ibuprofen. Medication may need to be stopped before treatment.
How much downtime is usually needed and what should I expect?
HIfu is a wonderful treatment and known as the lunchtime face lift as there is no downtime.
Treatment is offered as a single procedure for the face and a course of 3 for the abdomen. With a review assessment 3 months after your treatment.
There is no downtime following treatment and it is often advertised as the ‘Lunchtime Facelift’

Treatment works by forming focused thermal coagulation in the desired skin and deep layers causing neo-collagenesis and new collagen formation as well as contraction of unwanted fat. Tightening of the skin fibres contracts the surface area of the skin, creating an improvement in the appearance of drooping or sagging skin on the face, neck, jawline and body area treated. It is especially good at treating the stubborn fat and sagging skin under the chin.
