Skin Boosting Treatments Twickenham

At Thames Skin Clinic, we are proud to be using Profhilo and Polynucleotides to help improve skin tightness and hydration.

  • Profhilo: An injectable treatment that boosts dehydrated skin with the highest concentration of hyaluronic acid available within a skin-stimulating product.
  • Polynucleotides: Polynucleotides are DNA stimulators originating from Salmon or trout origins. They help strengthen the skin and restore elasticity and vitality.

The result from our skin boosting treatments is intensive hydration, improved skin texture and a noticeable reduction in fine lines.

If you’re looking for skin boosters in Twickenham or London, you can trust our expert care and personalised treatment plan. Here at Thames Skin Clinic, treatments are led by Dr Anna Hemming, who has over 15 years of medical expertise and a background as a former GP.

How Do Skin Boosters Work?

Skin boosters are an injectable treatment that involves injecting hyaluronic acid into the skin’s deeper layers to hydrate, rejuvenate and improve skin texture.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is found naturally in the skin. Sadly, we lose the ability to maintain its supply as we age. The quantity and quality of HA also diminishes over time. By replenishing HA in the skin, we harness its powerful humectant properties, which attract and retain moisture, significantly boosting hydration.

In addition to improving hydration, HA also supports collagen production, helping to gently tighten and firm the skin over time. These effects develop gradually over several months, improving both skin tightness and overall hydration.

Profhilo promotes multilevel dynamic remodelling, improving the extracellular matrix, strengthening fibroblasts, keratinocytes and adipocytes to improve elasticity and hydration of the skin. Improvements to skin laxity, tightness and quality of the overall skin surface.

Targeted Profhilo treatment helps to tighten skin and stimulate collagen and elastin formation.

Treatment improves

  • Photo and sun damaged skin
  • Wrinkles
  • Fine lines
  • Skin Laxity
  • Stretch marks

Profhilo treatment is performed in 2 -3 sessions (or more if further improvement to severe laxity is needed).

Treatment is

  • Safe and in compliance with European and FDA standards
  • Biocompatible as integrates into the tissue where it restores the levels of hyaluronic acid naturally found in the skin
  • Hyaluronic Acid (HA) at it’s best, developed with patented NAHYCO technology Profhilo contains one of the highest concentrations of HA and delivers a prolonged efficacy without the addition of cross linking chemical agents (found in other HA products).
  • Effective with clinical data confirming improvements in skin texture, elasticity and hydration with an immediate tightening effect.
  • Non invasive using a specially developed injection technique reducing pain, downtime and the number of treatment sessions. The perfect lunchtime procedure.
Are skin boosters suitable for me?

Profhilo is a very safe and effective treatment when performed by medically qualified specialist professionals. We will guide you regarding suitable treatment courses depending on your skin’s requirements. It’s best to avoid extremes of temperature for 7 days after skin booster. It is not suitable if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

How safe are skin-boosting treatments?

All of our skin-boosting treatments are extremely safe when carried out by our fully qualified and highly experienced practitioners.

Will I feel any pain or discomfort during my skin boosting treatment?

During your skin boosting treatment, you will feel a slight pressure and sting in the skin, which indicates the Profhilo is being delivered within the skin where it is needed. We provide full aftercare advice and apply a premium SPF to your skin for added protection.

Are there any associated risks with skin boosters?

There are no serious risks associated with skin boosters. After treatment, your skin may feel warm with some swelling at the treatment sites, which go down in a few hours. There is also a possibility of a little pinprick bruise. Please ensure you provide us with your full medical history and update any changes which may occur.

How much downtime is usually needed from skin boosters and what should I expect?

From skin boosters, you should expect mild redness or inflammation or swelling. This usually lasts between 12 to 24 hours and doesn’t require downtime.

Procedure

First your medical history will be taken followed by an examination of your skin concerns. You can discuss whether Profhilo treatment is suitable for you and address your expectations from treatment. When the treatment has been fully explained you will be required to sign a consent form and a photograph will be taken for your confidential records.

Following cleansing local anaesthetic can be applied if needed.

Profhlio treatment will then commence with superficial subcutaneous injection.

Following treatment you an antiseptic cream or lotion will be applied, normally Clinisept+

Your comfort levels and expectations are important factors which are considered in your consultation.

Injectable treatments vary by the area of treatment given to achieve the best results. We often get asked about the cost of treatment. At Thames Skin Clinic we pride ourselves on results rather than focus on the price of a treatment, it is more important that we get the correct quality of product rather than offer cut price treatments, products and services (especially when it comes to medical treatments). You will never see Thames Skin Clinic advertising services on social coupon sites such as Groupon as we believe they have a negative impact on our customer safety, results and satisfaction. We also wish to abide by the advertising regulator and work in a safe ethical manor.
