Will I feel any pain or discomfort during my wrinkle treatment?
Wrinkle treatments at Thames Skin Clinic are not painful treatments. You may notice some very mild discomfort when treatment is placed. This is short lived and does not linger after treatment.
Are there any associated risks?
Side effects are minimal if any. The solution is injected through a very small needle, never the less the injection site may be tenderness and mild bruising may occur. Ptosis or drooping of the eye lid is very rare, much less so with the experienced injector physician.
It should not to be used if pregnant or breast feeding as we have no research to prove it is safe for your foetus or child.
Care must be taken if diagnosed with neurological or bleeding disorders, currently suffering with a skin infection or allergy or taking particular medication. Your specialist will be able to advise you further.
Please discuss any current medication with the doctor, especially if you are taking aspirin on Ibuprofen. Medication may need to be stopped before treatment.
How much downtime is usually needed after wrinkle treatment and what should I expect?
After wrinkle treatment there may be a small bump on the skin which usually settle in 5-10 minutes. Occasionally a small pinprick bruise may occur. There is no significant downtime and full aftercare advice will be given at your appointment.

- Do not bend excessively
