Dermal Filler Removal in Twickenham

In the UK there are many types of filler products and treatments. At Thames Skin Clinic we only inject the best quality premium brand filler. Using products with a safe record and suitable for the intended depth and area of treatments.

Modern hyaluronic acid dermal filler can be removed by injecting an enzyme to break down the filler and allow rapid reabsorption by the body.

If you have a filler treatment and you do not like the results it is possible to use this method to remove the filler from the sub dermal space. Dr Hemming has 12 years experience in the use of Hyaluronidase to remove hyaluronic acid filler and can been consulted by any clients wishing to have this treatment. Over the years she has helped many patients who wish to have unwanted dermal filler removed.

Dermal fillers are injected by needle or cannula to the correct position by a fully qualified medical doctor with extensive training to give you a natural subtle treatment replacing volume which has been depleted and returning proportion and symmetry to the face. It is important to see a medically qualified practitioner for this treatment to ensure the safe injection and management of results.

Skin differs in its thickness and texture from one area to another. Different fillers are suitable for particular areas depending on the depth of the filler required to correct the volume loss or skin hydration.

Hyaluronidase is suitable to remove hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. Different dermal filler products act in different ways. Most dermal fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, however there are some collagen stimulator filler products which are different.  If you are considering having dermal filler removal treatment, please obtain your treatment notes from your original treatment. This information is extremely useful to ensure a hyaluronic acid dermal filler has been used and the type to predict the breakdown of the dermal filler you have been injected with.

Is this treatment suitable for me?

Hyaluronic Acid filler removal is suitable for most people and emergency treatment is important to understand. We discuss your medical history at your consultation and would ask you to postpone treatment if it were not necessary or you were pregnant or breastfeeding. Treatment may not suitable if you are having immune therapy or undergoing cancer treatment.

How safe is treatment?

Hyaluronidase treatment is very safe as a routine procedure. It is also used in the emergency removal of dermal filler when a blood vessel is obstructed. It is performed by Dr Hemming who is extremely experienced in aesthetic injectable techniques.

Will I feel any pain or discomfort during my treatment?

You should expect some minor discomfort or tenderness initially, this settles very quickly.

Are there any side effects to treatment or risks associated?

Side effects are minimal if any. Injection site tenderness and mild bruising as well as redness, dry skin and itching to the treatment area may occur. HA dermal filler is broken down quickly and any swelling caused should settle within 7-14 days. More serious complications can occur with HA dermal filler use which is why all of our dermal filler treatments are performed by a medically qualified practitioner who is trained in complication management.

Procedure

Hyaluronidase is an enzyme used to break down unwanted Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Filler. It is injected into the unwanted product and causes filler to breakdown over 2-5 days. Treatment is effective, however due to the natural differences between us all further treatment may be required to remove all of the unwanted product deposition.

The enzyme is injected through a fine sterile needle into the area of unwanted filler.

Treatment can cause mild discomfort over a few seconds.

Effects can be seen over 2-5 days and the complete effect in 2 weeks.

Your comfort levels and expectations are important factors which are considered in your consultation.
