Our vascular laser supersedes IPL and is also extremely comfortable for treating your thread veins and cherry angioma because the targeted laser energy is only absorbed by your unwanted vascular blemishes, this is also combined with an advanced sapphire cooling technology to make your vascular laser treatment more comfortable.
You can have blemish free skin in just 1 to 3 treatments (which only take 20 to 30 minutes each). So, no more covering up, you can have the freedom to go make-up free and wear what you want when you want.

How vascular laser and IPL treatments work

The laser and IPL produces an intense but gentle burst of light that treats your abnormal red or blue blood vessels (pro pigmentation) visible on your skin,  face,  legs or body using controlled methods without any harm to your surrounding skin tissue.
Essentially laser treatments involve absorption of light by the cells in the skin, blood vessels or pigmentation. These cells have the ability to absorb specific wave lengths of laser light which then causes the cell to close, tighten, crust and heal (depending what we are treating). Unwanted blood vessels are red or blue appearing veins which the Excel V+ laser selects out, heats the blood vessel and coagulates and close them.
The next process is the re-absorption of the destroyed blood vessel and the elimination of the broken-down debris (also known as phagocytosis). This can take several weeks which is why you may require 1 – 3 treatments at 4 weekly intervals.
Thread veins on your legs can be larger than those on your face and sometimes the larger veins need an additional treatment using Sclerotherapy or ThermaVein  to reduce them before vascular laser treatments can be used to mop up the smaller thread veins. We assess the need for this before having laser treatment.
If you have darker skin (skin type 4 or higher) or have been exposed to sun  which means you are not suitable for laser treatments. The wonderful thing about Thames Skin Clinic is that we have a number of vein treatments available and we are still able to treat you veins with either Sclerotherapy or ThermaVein treatment to help reduce leg veins and facial vein removal.

Fast and easy recovery

Your recovery time after laser treatment is fast with your skin appearing slightly flushed for up to 4 hours post treatment which quickly fades as your body absorbs the closed blood vessels.

Next Steps

If you have redness, rosacea, cherry angioma or thread veins that are impacting your confidence, then book your consultation today. For cherry angioma or facial veins, our laser experts will carry out a patch test to ensure your safety. If you are suitable for treatment, we will arrange your personalized treatment plan.
For thread veins on your legs you must have a consultation with our Doctor who will assess your leg veins with a doppler ultrasound to ensure they are suitable for treatment before advising you which treatment option is the best for your  leg veins. This could be sclerotherapy before being finalising with laser or ThermaVein treatments.
